Dave Henry
, who has done quite a bit of work with the Cowboy Junkies, is an extremely modest and unassuming guy.
You would never guess that behind his cheerful, mild-mannered
countenance there lurks an unhinged monster of the cello. Once again, this was Roger
bringing in someone I knew very little about. But I had faith, and that faith was soon validated.
At some point, as he was laying down beautiful tracks on either "Heaven Help Us" or "How,"
he started fooling around with some effects and demonstrating how to play heavy metal cello.
That's when I knew he would sound brilliant on "Spoonful," so we did that next.
And what he did on the instrumental section of "How" might just be my favorite moment on the whole record!
