NICK MANCINI - Vibraphone
Nick Mancini is, by his own admission, most at home when behind the vibes and in front of a capacity crowd. He has performed and recorded with such noted jazz musicians as Kenny Werner, Marvin "Smitty" Smtih and Charles Fambrough. As a bandleader, Nick has written, produced, and recorded with Silver Standard (Horace of a Different Color) a tribute to the music of Horace Silver, the Nick Mancini Collective (Live: New York) and Type II (Flexible Plan). Greg Burk from the LA Weekly describes Mancini as "...an exploratory young vibraphonist with two toes dipped in tradition who splashes gentle swing, understatedly bent shoogabooga and exotic undersea layerings of filtered light.
