Joe Pisapia,
singer and guitarist for the excellent Joe
Marc's Brother, was the first of the Magical Mystery Musicians I had
the pleasure of meeting when I turned it all over to Roger to decide who
was going to play on the Nashville sessions. Joe was having a little house
party that first night I was in town and we went over there. So the first
thing that impressed me about Joe was not his playing, but his warm and
open personality and the fact that he has a very cute kitchen! I later
learned that he is an eclectic, effortlessly brilliant, continuously inspired
guitar-player. And he turned me on to one of the great secrets of life:
You can be making a record AND doing your laundry at the same time! There
was a laundromat across the street, and Joe used to turn up at the session
with a bag of dirty clothes and a bottle of detergent. Soon I was doing
it too ...
