Dark dusty chandeliers
cry
lopsided tears
And all the velvet’s worn
away
But still we would like
to stay
We should be walking in
the park
Why are we sitting in the
dark?
Heaven help us -- come out
of the blue
Heaven help us find a way
to
Tear down this love like
an old bijou
Heaven help us -- me and
you
Blubirds and butterflies
bring them in here, they die
What kind of madness built
this love?
To leave, we should push
and shove
Why is it easier to stay
And never face the light
of day?
Heaven help us ...
With every brick that falls
on our street
There’ll be a new shaft
of light
And when the palace lies
at our feet
We’re gonna know that it’s
right
Heaven help us -- come out
of the blue
Heaven help us find a way
to
Tear down this love -- be
the wrecking crew
Heaven help us -- me and
you
